Bazadde Care is a Christian organization dedicated to fulfilling the Scriptural mandate to care for the poor as found in Psalm 82:3, Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. We seek to holistically equip, empower and encourage parents with little or no formal education. To do this, we provide vocational training to parents, aiming to help them earn a self-sufficient income within two years.
"Bazadde" is a Luganda word that means "Parents". Bazadde Care is dedicated to caring for parents, in other words, Parent Care!
Mission
To equip under-resourced Ugandan parents with spiritual, vocational, and financial support so they can discover their value, grow in confidence, and build sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families.
Impact
Our program has transformed the lives of many parents. For example, Kalule joined as a public toilet attendant in Katanga slum and, through training and support, successfully started his own barbershop business.
Vision
To inspire parents from under-resourced families in Uganda to live Christ-centered lives while gaining practical education and skills that enable dignity, independence, and long-term self-reliance.
What We Do
Every year we assess some parents and select those who we qualify for our programme. We then EDUCATE the parents on good life principles like biblical lifestyle such as, Jesus is the only Savior, work is from God and those who don't work should not eat. We also teach them how to run a business and the importance of budgeting. We encourage them to save, instead of spending all the money they make. We encourage them to hope in God and have a vision for their lives so that they can starting seeing themselves as successful and happy.
We also EQUIP the parents with vocational skills which they will use to make money. Some are trained in hair dressing, cooking, fixing cars and others. Because of the high unemployment rates in Uganda, we prefer training them to have their own businesses instead of waiting for jobs to come up. After graduation we equip some of the parents with the tools they need to start working and for some of the parents we help them look for jobs.
